A marine finds a picture of a woman on the battlefield and survives a series of near-death experiences. Upon returning home he decides to try to find her to thank her. He finds the woman in Louisiana and gains employment at the dog kennel that she helps run, but does not tell her how he came to arrive there.

Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling each gave good performances, but there is a noticeable age difference between the two that threw me off. This movie was better than most chick flicks. It was not horrible by any means. If you really like dogs, that would probably be enough to make it one you would enjoy. If you really like Louisiana, then it is definitely one for you. If you can relate to “gardening away the pain”, then there is a scene you will really like. I wouldn’t recommend it, but I wouldn’t necessarily avoid it, either.
