This is a musical set in the 1960’s. A girl is selected to appear on a popular television show despite her “larger than average” body type. She begins to challenge other barriers of the time, most notably racism.

I make an honest effort to try to make it through the entirety of every movie that I review. With determination, I made it more than half-way through this one. The ending is rated as “0” but it should more accurately be “?”. I can say that it was better than I expected. I don’t usually even try to watch a movie based on a musical.

So… if you like other movies based on musicals you might really like this one. If musicals aren’t normally your thing, pass on this one.
