There are two loosely intertwined plots for this movie. A modern day woman starts a blog and attempts to cook every recipe in the Julia Child cookbook. We also learn the story of Julia Child’s exploration of French cooking, and rise to culinary renown in the 1950’s and 60’s.

 

This was a well-made, entertaining movie… about a subject I just don’t really care about. While I enjoy food and cooking, I have very little interest in Julia Child, or a story about a food blogger. It is a credit to the director and cast that I was entertained by this movie to the point of finishing it. If you have interest in the story of Julia Child, you will like this one, but I feel like most of you probably don’t. I have to say “DON’T DO IT!”
